Pacers shoot down Hawks, knot series with strong finish

Atlanta, GA, United States (4E Sports) – David West scored 24 and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Indiana Pacers past the Atlanta Hawks, 95-88 Thursday at Philips Arena.

Paul George also scored 24 for the Pacers’ win that extended the series to a game 7.

The Hawks had a 12-0 run in the first to take a 10-point lead but the Pacers ended the quarter with a 13-5 blast to close in at 22-20.

It was back-and-forth in the second until the Pacers scored six unanswered points that allowed the Hawks to take a 44-39 halftime lead.

The Hawks gave the Pacers a taste of their own medicine by ending the third with a 13-3 burst to get a 67-64 lead entering the fourth.

Back-to-back baskets by Jeff Teague pushed the Hawks ahead 84-79 with just over 3 minutes left.

But David West scored eight in the remaining minutes to lead the Pacers on a 16-4 run to seal the game.

Teague scored 29 to lead Atlanta.

Game 7 is Saturday in Indianapolis.
