Atlanta, GA, United States (4E Sports) – Paul George scored 24 points, including the go-ahead triple in the last two minutes, as the Indiana Pacers defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 91-88, in Saturday’s Game 4 at Philips Arena to tie the Eastern Conference first-round series at 2-2.
The Hawks were leading by 85-81 when Luis Scola started the rally with a short jumper before George put the Pacers ahead for good with a 25-foot triple.
David West added another triple for a four-point lead but he fouled Kyle Korver while shooting from beyond the arc with 1:23 remaining.
Korver made three foul shots to bring the Hawks within a point but George Hill capped the 10-3 run with a layup for a three-point cushion.
After a miss by Paul Millsap with nine seconds left, George drew a foul from DeMarre Carroll and a chance to make it a two-possession game.
However, George flubbed two foul shots, giving the Hawks a chance to send the game into overtime.
Pero Antic missed a 27-foot triple as time expired, allowing the Pacers to escape with the much-needed win as they head back to Indianapolis for Game 5 with the series tied.
George added 10 rebounds and five assists, David West had 18 points, George Hill chipped in 15 while Evan Turner scored 11 off the bench for the Pacers.
Paul Millsap scored 29 points on 10-for-18 shooting, Korver added 15, Jeff Teague had 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists and Mike Scott added 12 off the bench for the Hawks.
