Monday Night Football opens with dobleheader on Sept.8

New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – ESPN’s broadcast of 2014 NFL games on Monday Night Football will open with a doubleheader September 8 with the New York Giants at the Detroit Lions and the San Diego Chargers at the Arizona Cardinals.

It will feature 26 of the league’s 32 teams throughout the season.

The Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Washington Redskins, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints are scheduled to appear twice.

The Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will appear once, facing the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field in week 5.

AFC Champion Denver Broncos will also appear once, facing the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium in Week 16.

Only the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings are not appearing on MNF this season.
