Justin Williams, Marian Gaborik bail out Kings against Sharks

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Justin Williams and Marian Gaborik had two goals apiece as the Los Angeles Kings beat the San Jose Sharks, 6-3 Thursday at Staples Center.

With the Game 4 win, the Kings avoided first-round playoff elimination and extended the series. Gaborik scored at 4:08 of the opening period following a feed by Dustin Brown.

The Sharks evened it at 19:52 with James Sheppard’s goal. After Williams put the Kings back ahead in the second, the Sharks tied it again on Matt Nieto’s shot.

Williams again reclaimed the lead for the Kings by tucking in a long rebound off the end boards.

Tyler Toffoli made it a three-goal second period for the Kings that placed them up 4-2.

Then Gaborik knocked home his second goal to make it a 5-2 lead for the Kings at 0:34 of the third.

Joe Pavelski’s goal on a power play at 11:36 allowed the Sharks to cut their deficit to 5-3.

Then Brown scored at 18:32 to push the Kings lead to 6-3 and secure the win.

Jonathan Quick made 36 saves for the Kings while Antti Nemi had 21 saves for the Sharks.
