Cleveland, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel will showcase his skills for Cleveland Browns officials in a private workout Saturday in College Station, Texas.
According to a source, Manziel, widely projected as a high first-round pick in next month’s NFL draft, will also visit with the Browns this week.
The Browns did not attend Manziel’s pro day at Texas A&M but they have been recently linked with the quarterback.
The Browns, who own the No. 4 overall pick, have veteran Brian Hoyer as the only quarterback on their roster. Hoyer is attempting to bounce back from a serious knee injury.
Several teams have met with the former Texas A&M star, including the Houston Texans, who own the first overall pick, and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are picking third.
The Browns went 4-12 last season and are rebuilding their roster under new general manager Ray Farmer and first-year coach Mike Pettine.
