Italy industrial orders down 3.1 percent in February, domestic and foreign orders dip

Rome, Italy (4E) – Industrial orders in Italy fell in February, the second time in the last three months, according to the report by statistical office Istat released Friday.

February’s industrial orders fell 3.1 percent from the previous month as both domestic and foreign demand declined. The result is a reversal of January’s revised figure of 4.7 percent gain.

Domestic demand dropped 2.2 percent and foreign orders fell 4.4 percent in February.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, industrial turnover declined by 1.5 percent from January, when it grew 1.2 percent. Domestic sales fell 1.8 percent and non-domestic market turnover dropped 0.7 percent.

Industrial orders gained 2.8 percent on a yearly basis and turnover increased 1.2 percent in February.
