Tulsa, OK, United States (4E Sports) – Frank Haith has verbally agreed to coach Tulsa and replace Danny Manning, who left for Wake Forest earlier this month.
He led the Missouri Tigers to the NCAA tournament in two of his three seasons and had a 76-28 record in the high-profile SEC.
Haith served a five-game suspension by the NCAA this past season for failing to promote an atmosphere of compliance when he coached Miami.
An NCAA investigation found that Haith and an assistant coach had previous improper contact with high school recruits and amateur coaches.
Haith’s suspension was tied to a larger 2½-year NCAA investigation of Miami that also involved the football team.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane went 21-13 this past season, won the Conference USA tournament and reached the NCAA tournament with a young team.
Next season, Tulsa will be moving to the American Athletic Conference.
