Clippers topple Nuggets for franchise high 57th win

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Blake Griffin scored 24 in leading the Los Angeles Clippers to its franchise-record 57th victory by beating the Denver Nuggets, 117-105 Tuesday at Staples Center.

Chris Paul had 21 points and 10 assists, DeAndre Jordan had 13 points and 16 rebounds and JJ Redick added 18 points in the win, which also gave the Clippers a 34-7 franchise mark for home games.

Incidentally, it was also in this game that Griffin earned his 16th technical of the season, which will result in an automatic one-game suspension.

The Clippers scored the game’s first 13 points and led all the way.

Paul’s 3-pointer followed by 10 points from JJ Redick in a 13-2 Clippers run gave them a 28-10 lead.

Evan Fournier and Aaron Brooks scored back-to-back 3-pointers as the Nuggets closed in 36-26 before Jordan hit aanother basket for the Clippers to end the quarter.

For the entire second quarter the Clippers led by double digits, which reached by as much as 19 points at 63-44.

The Clippers enjoyed an 84-61 advanatged midway in the third but Quincy Miller’s three straight 3-pointers kept the Nuggets in the game.

The Nuggets had a 12-2 blast to cut their deficit to 88-80 at the end of the third.

The rally continued early in the fourth that saw the Nuggets got to within five pints at 89-84.

The Clippers answered with a 10-2 run that put them on top 101-88 and allowed them a double-ddigit lead the rest of the way.

Timofey Mozgov had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Nuggets as Kenneth Faried had 21 points and Brooks added 19.
