Rotterdam, Netherlands (4E) – Dutch police arrested a 14-year-old girl from Rotterdam on Monday for tweeting a bomb threat to American Airlines on Sunday.

The arrest of the girl named Sarah with Twitter account name @queendemetriax was disclosed by the Rotterdam police also via Twitter. But the arrest was not on behalf of the FBI, which the airline alerted on Sunday.

The Rotterdam police also said the girl will be interviewed on Monday.

The girl tweeted that her name is Ibrahim and she is from Afghanistan and part of al Qaeda. Part of the tweet was “on June 1st I’m gonna do something really big.”

American Airlines responded with “we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI.”

Sarah tweeted again saying she was joking and was sorry.

The Twitter exchange was picked up by the airlines’ more than 800,000 followers. American later deleted its tweet and Sarah made her account private.
