Forward Trevor Thompson transfers from Virginia Tech to Ohio State

Columbus, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Promising 7-footer Trevor Thompson, erstwhile of Virginia Tech, has chosen to transfer to the Ohio State Buckeyes over other pursuers Indiana, Purdue and Butler.

“I love the academics, the fans, my new teammates and the coaching staff,” Thompson said. “It was the perfect fit.”

Thompson averaged 5.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as a freshman, and had 15 points and six rebounds against Duke in February.

He is the son of former Major League Baseball player Ryan Thompson.
