Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – Edson Buddle stroked home a low finish to push the Colorado Rapids past Toronto FC, 1-0 Saturday at BMO Field.
Steven Caldwell got a yellow card for handball in the 17th minute but the Rapids could not take advantage and the two teams headed into the half at 0-0.
There was a series of quick of passes by the Rapids capped by the one Dillon Powers sent at Budle’s feet for an easy tap-in goal in the 77th minute.
Playing without injured stars Michael Bradley and Jermain Defoe, Toronto created many more chances and used a series of corners and free kicks in the final 15 minutes but couldn’t get the goal.
The win gave the Rapids three points away from home, their first-ever point from a regular-season visit to Toronto.
