Jose Abreu homers twice as White Sox topple Indians

Chicago, IL, United States (4E Sports) – Jose Abreu homered twice in leading the Chicago White Sox past the Cleveland Indians, 7-3 Thursday at U.S. Cellular Field.

The Indians got off to a 2-0 lead with two runs in the top of the first.

Abreu homered in the second to cut the lead to 2-1. Asdrubal Cabrera hit a homer in the third to bring the Indians’ lead back to two runs at 3-1.

Alexei Ramirez had a homer and Adam Eaton had an RBI single in the third as the White Sox tied it at 3.

An RBI double in the fourth by Ramirez gave the White Sox a 5-3 lead.

Abreu later homered to left field in the sixth off left-handed reliever Josh Outman to make it a 6-3 lead for the Sox.

Eaton then scored after Abreu grounded into the fielder’s choice to make it 7-3.

Indians starter Danny Salazar (0-1) struck out 10 in 3 2/3 innings. He also gave up five runs and six hits, including homers by Abreu and Ramirez. White Sox starter John Danks (1-0) allowed three runs and six hits in six innings.
