SPRING MILLS — The Clearfield and host Penns Valley schoolboy baseball teams played on even terms for 11 innings Wednesday before the Mountain League game was suspended because of darkness.

They’ll complete the game when the Rams visit the Bison Sports Complex on May 6.

Clearfield (0-3) broke up a 1-1 duel with two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but Penns Valley (0-1) answered to force extra innings.

Coach Sid Lansberry’s Bison will make a return to the Altoona Curve Classic this weekend and will open against Altoona in a 12:30 p.m. game Friday. Hollidaysburg or Latrobe will be their opponent Saturday. If they advance to the title game, they’ll play again Sunday at 1 p.m.

Clearfield has made three appearances in the Curve Classic, winning the championship in 2008 and losing in the finals in 2010.

The Bison’s next league outing will be their home opener against Philipsburg-Osceola on Monday.
