Orlando, FL, United States (4E Sports) – Tristan Thompson had 20 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and a block as the Cleveland Cavaliers trounced the Orlando Magic 119-98, Wednesday at Amway Center.
Dion Waiters top scored with 26, Spencer Hawes added 20 points and eight rebounds, while Kyrie Irving had 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds in the victory.
The Cavs raced to a 70-47 halftime lead and the closest the Magic got after that was 17 after Arron Afflalo hit a 3-pointer with 4:11 left in the third quarter to make it 82-65
Then Thompson scored six in a 10-0 Cavs run to make it 92-65 with 49 seconds left in the third.
A Tyler Zeller basket gave the Cavs its biggest lead of 28 points at 96-68 to start the fourth.
They cruised through the rest of the quarter with little effort.
The Cavs are hoping to make one last run at the playoffs and the easy win moved the them within two games of New York and Atlanta for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Cavs play at Atlanta Friday night.
Victor Oladipo led the Magic with 16 point while Doron Lamb added 14.
