South Bend, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Natalie Achonwa had 23 points, five blocks, two steals and six assists to help Notre Dame Fighting Irish to an easy win over Oklahoma State Cowgirls , 89-72 Saturday at Edmund P. Joyce Center.
Jewell Loyd had 20 points and 12 boards and Kayla McBride added 18 points for top-seeded Notre Dame, which had 10 blocks and had a 46-36 advantage in rebounds.
Notre Dame raced to a 14-0 lead with Achonwa scoring seven and Loyd pumping in five points.
Tiffany Bias hit a 3-pointer to get Oklahoma State to the scoreboard.
That would not stop Notre Dame (35-0) which kept the lead well into double-digits.
An easy basket inside by Madison Cable off an assist by Achonwa gave Notre Dame (35-0) a 40-24 lead.
The second half was no different as Notre Dame boosted its lead to 20 points after a 5-0 run after a layup and free throw by Markisha Wright.
Bias finished with 17 points and 11 assists while LaShawn Jones added 16 points and three blocked shots to lead Oklahoma State (25-9).
