Andrew Cogliano nets tie-breaker as Ducks douse Flames

Calgary, AB, Canada (4E Sports) – Andrew Cogliano fired the go-ahead goal as the Anaheim Ducks edged the Calgary Flames, 3-2 Wednesday at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller made 32 saves.

Nick Bonino ripped a shot into the top corner past Flames goalie Karri Ramo’s outstretched glove to give the Ducks (47-18-7) a 1-0 lead.

Tyler Wotherspoon’s shot deflected off Kevin Westgarth’s glove then hit Brian McGrattan’s leg that went all the way behind Hiller at 4:44 of the second to tie the game.

Ladislav Smid used a fake shot before sending a quick pass to Jiri Hudler, who blasted a slap shot past Hiller to give the Flames (30-36-7) a 2-1 lead with 26 seconds left in the second.

Mathieu Perreault then found the puck near his skates before sliding it into the net to tie the game at 5:32 of the third.

Stephane Robidas’ shot from the blue line was kicked out by Ramo, but the puck went right to Andrew Cogliano who fired in the Ducks’ winning goal at 14:41 of the third period.

Ramo had 31 saves.
