Snyder Powers Past Mitskavich to Take Gold Pin Tournament Championship

(Clearfield)—Bart Snyder of Olean, NY, who bowls out of Byllye Lanes in Bradford, took home top honors in the District 4 Gold Pin Club tournament held Sunday at Clearfield Lanes. 38 club members and guests, 27 boys and 11 girls, started the afternoon off with a three game qualifying series with Ryan Mitskavich of DuBois being the tournament leader with a high game of 279 and a 673 series. The club went to a 13 person bracket roll off system with bowlers seeded by their three game pinfall. First round wins went to Briar Barrett, Cameron Spring, who was the lone female in the roll offs, Dalton Doverspike, Snyder, Antonio Willar, and Kyle Reynolds. The quarterfinal round saw Barrett, Snyder, and Reynolds picking up wins. Mitskavich, who received a two round bye, won his semi-final match against Reynolds while Snyder dispatched Barrett. Snyder struck in the first seven frames of the championship match, and cruised to the 246-194 win over Mitskavich. Reynolds took on Barrett for third place and won by a 208-168 score. The next Gold Pin Club tournament in scheduled for the fall at Byllye Lanes in Bradford.  Clearfield coach, Don Barr, would like to thank Global 900 and Byllye Lanes Pro Shop for the donation of two bowling bags awarded to Mitskavich and Spring for being the tournament leaders in their respective divisions. He would also like to thank Clearfield Lanes for hosting the tournament. District 4 youth bowling is made up of centers located in Bradford, Brookville, Clearfield, DuBois, Emporium, Kane, Philipsburg, and St. Marys.
