Edmonton, AB, Canada (4E Sports) – Joe Pavelski scored three times and assisted in another goal to lead the San Jose Sharks past the Edmonton Oilers, 5-2 Tuesday at Rexall Place.
The Oilers took the lead four minutes into the game courtesy of David Perron.
The Sharks (47-18-9) tied it 6:28 into the second on Pavelski’s first goal of the night.
Pavelski set up Patrick Marleau at the top of the opposite circle for a goal that gave San Jose a 2-1 lead.
The Sharks took a 3-1 lead with 30 seconds left in the second after Martin Havlat put a wrist shot past Oilers goalie Ben Scrivens
Pavelski then beat Scrivens to make it 4-1 at 1:17 of the third period before netting another goal with seven minutes left in the game.
The Oilers (25-39-9) cut the deficit to 5-2 with a backhand shot by Taylor Hall at 14:56 of the third.
