Tampa, FL, United States (4E Sports) – Authorities allege his brother was behind the stabbing of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Mike Williams at his home Sunday.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Williams was stabbed in the thigh and receiving medical care at St. Joseph’s Hospital and his brother is the primary suspect.

A Hillsborough spokeswoman would not release the brother’s name but said that police are looking for him Sunday evening after the stabbing.

“We are aware of the situation that occurred at the residence of Mike Williams and are working with him and the authorities to get additional information,” the team said in a statement.

“While we have limited knowledge at this time, our primary concern is for the safety and well bring of all involved. We will refrain from further comment until we can get a better understanding of the situation,” it added.

Williams, whose 2013 season ended early because of a torn hamstring, drew unwanted attention in the offseason after he was slapped with trespass and criminal mischief charges.

The wideout’s neighbors complained that Williams threw loud house parties and at least one neighbor said they “despise” him.

New coach Lovie Smith was not happy about Williams’ recent behavior when speaking at the 2014 NFL Combine.

“There’s a pattern here and it’s disturbing,” Smith said. “No one is bigger than this football team. He has to understand that.”

Williams recently signed a six-year, $40 million contract with the Buccaneers.
