Spurs wallop Lakers with late game burst

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Kawhi Leonard had 22 points and 10 rebounds while Tony Parker scored 25 as the San Antonio Spurs topped the Los Angeles Lakers, 125-109 Wednesday at Staples Center.

Tim Duncan added 12 points and 16 rebounds while Danny Green scored 16 points for the win.

The scores were close for most of the contest, with the Lakers managing to grab the lead twice in the second and twice in the third.

An 8-2 Spurs run buried the Lakers 104-94 with 7:30 left in the fourth.

Kent Bazemore hit back-to-back 3-pointers for the Lakers but the Spurs fired back with 14 points for a 114-100 lead.

The Spurs enjoyed their biggest at 17 late in the fourth.

Free throws for the Lakers by Ryan Kelly and baskets for the Spurs by Patty Mills and Cory Joseph jumper settled the final score.

Xavier Henry scored 24 and Pau Gasol had 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Lakers’ sixth loss in seven games.
