Cleveland, OH, United States (4E Sports) – LeBron James scored 43 in leading the Miami Heat over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 100-96 Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena.
Chris Bosh added 21 for the win.
James started hot, scoring 24 in the first quaster as the Heat took a 37-25 advantage after one.
The Cavs started the second with a 15-3 run with Anderson Varejao scoring 6 to tie the game at 40 with 7:35 remaining.
James and Ray Allen each had a 3-pointer as the Heat outscored the Cavs 7-1 in the last 1:31 of the second to take a 59-54 lead at the half.
The Cavs ambushed the heat with an 11-2 burst to start the third to grab the lead at 65-61.
The lead changed several times before the quarter ended at 79-all.
The game remained tightly contested in the first 8:17 of the fourth that featured four ties before Bosh’s nine-point streak pushed Miami ahead, 93-88, with 2:24 remaining after five points.
James added two crucial blocks and dropped six free throws in the final two minutes as the Heat sealed the win despite Jarett Jack hitting two 3-pointers in the final 15.7 seconds.
Jack scored 22 and Dion Waiters added 17 and 11 assists to lead the Cavs, which was without Kyrie Irving and Luol Deng.
