Seaford, NY, United States (NewsBahn) – Authorities say a Long Island postman reportedly tossed out thousands of pieces of mail rather than have to deliver them.
US Postal Service worker Patrick Paskett’s movements were monitored by federal agents after some Nassau County residents complained about not receiving letters and packages.
He reportedly admitted to authorities he committed the act about 15 times between December and March, though Paskett didn’t have a comment for reporters.
“I really don’t want to talk about this with anyone,” Paskett told The New York Post outside his Massapequa Park home Monday. “It happened. I resigned. I don’t work for them anymore. It’s over.”
Paskett, still employed by the USPS pending the outcome of the criminal case, faces a felony charge that carries up to five years in jail.
