Raleigh, NC, United States (4E Sports) – Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Joni Pitkanen revealed he has been progressing in his rehab from a broken heel but still doesn’t know when his career can resume.
“There is no timetable as of now, but I’ve been making progress with my rehab and it remains my goal to resume my professional hockey career,” said Pitkanen.
Pitkanen, 30, sustained a broken left calcaneus bone April 2, 2013, against the Washington Capitals
He has been working with Raleigh Orthopaedic throughout this season.
Selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round (No. 4) of the 2002 NHL Draft, Pitkanen has 57 goals and 225 assists in 535 NHL games with the Flyers, Edmonton Oilers and Hurricanes.
