Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Blake Griffin Griffin had 21 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists to push the Los Anegels Clippers past the Cleveland Cavaliers, 102-80 Sunday at Staples Center.
Chris Paul posted 16 points and 15 assists while DeAndre Jordan added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers’ 11th consecutive victory.
The Clippers took a 17-3 lead in the first quarter as the Cavs missed nine of its first 10 shots.
A Griffin jumper gave the Clippers a commanding 46-30 lead with 3:21 left in the second.
The Clippers scored 10 unanswered points early in the third to get a 64-43 lead before the Cavs exploded with a 10-0 run of their own.
But Reggie Bullock’s 3-pointer and two free throws in a 6-0 Clippers run doused the Cavs rally.
The Cavs weren’t done and scored 12 straight points courtesy of Jarrett Jack and Spencer Hawes all the way to the fourth quarter to trim their deficit to 76-69.
The Clippers returned the favor with a 10-0 burst for an 86-69 lead as they kept the Cavs scoreless for almost five minutes.
The Cavs wouldn’t recover as the Clippers went in for the kill and posted their biggest lead of 22 points to end the game.
Luol Deng scored 23 points and Dion Waiters had 15 to lead the Cavs.
