Oakland, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Spencer Hawes had 22 points and 13 rebounds to push the Cleveland Cavaliers past the Golden State Warriors, 103-94 Friday at Oracle Arena.
Dion Waiters added 18 points off the bench and Luol Deng and Kyrie Irving had 16 apiece for the Cavs.
David Lee scored nine and Andre Iguodala had back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Warriors a 20-4 midway through the first quarter.
The lead grew to 36-18 early in the second before the Cavs scored 13 unaswered points to make it 36-31.
After a David Lee layup made it 38-31, the Cavs had another run, this time at 9-0, to overtake the Warriors 41-38.
The Warriors needed a 7-0 blast to restore a four-point lead before a Luol Deng 3-pointer brought it down to 53-52 at the half.
The Cavs outscored the Warriors 18-6 to end the third to enjoy an 84-71 lead entering the fourth.
A jumper by Irving and back-to-back baskets by Dion Waiters gave the Cavs it biggest lead at 92-76 with 6:54 left.
The Warriors would never recover.
Stephen Curry scored 27 points and Draymond Green added 18 to lead the Warriors in a losing effort.
