Jerry K. Grube, 79, of Clearfield died Monday, March 10, 2014 at his residence. Born Sept. 5, 1934 in St. Marys, he was the son of John and Claudia (Kramer) Grube.
Mr. Grube had worked for Stackpole Carbon Factory and as the office manager for Fullington Auto Bus Company, the Clearfield Hospital and then retired from Kurtz Bros. School Supplies, where he was the manager of the bid department after 25 years of service in December of 1997.
He served the country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the USS Spiegel Grove, receiving a National Defense medal, a Good Conduct medal and the Navy Occupation European medal. He was a member of the Clearfield American Legion Post No. 6, and was a former member of the Clearfield B.P.O.E. Lodge 540 and the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles.
On Nov. 26, 1959, he wed the former Anna Mae Heiberger, who survives, along with three children, Ruth Rougeux and her husband, Randy of Olanta, Shirley Morgan and her husband, Mark of Clearfield and Steven Grube and his wife, Terry of Cary, NC. Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
At the request of Mr. Grube, there will be no public visitation and graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Robert Melgard and Mr. Richard Barkley co-officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
