New York, NY, United States (4E) – The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is all set to publish his new picture book for children titled “Gus and Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar” in September.
The autobiographical book, to be published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, tells about part of Richards’ childhood that has allowed him to enrich his talents and love for music through the influence of his grandfather, Theodore Augustus Dupree, most especially that moment when the young Richards held a guitar in his hands for the first time.
The 70-year-old rocker had this to say, “I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I’m talking about. The bond, the special bond, between kids and grandparents is unique and should be treasured. This is a story of one of those magical moments. May I be as great a grandfather as Gus was to me.”
His daughter, Theodora, who does the illustrations for the book, said in a press release, “When I found out they wanted me to be a part of this project, my immediate instinct was to say yes, and I am so happy I did. To be able to explore my father’s relationship with his grandfather was a gift in itself. The things that I’ve learnt during this whole process have just been life affirming.”
“Gus & Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar” is all set to be released on September 9, 2014 both in hardcover with exclusive bonus content CD and e-book.
