Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Years after the hit musical film series wrapped, actor Zac Efron has opened up about the possibility of a “High School Musical” reunion movie, and said that the thought is on his mind.
“We’re all thinking about it,” Efron told E! News on Sunday at the SXSW in Austin, where he was promoting his new comedy “Neighbors,” alongside Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne.
The 26-year old star added, “I continue to see all the guys from ‘High School.’ Every time we do…there’s just this look between us. It’s so cool because we never forget a single moment of that experience. It brings you right back to those days.”
“High School Musical,” starring Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, was released in 2006 as a Disney Channel original movie, followed by an equally successful sequel the next year. The third film was released in theaters in October 2008, and has grossed over $252.9 million worldwide.
Meanwhile, after rising to fame in “High School Musical,” Efron has appeared in several films such as “17 Again,” “Charlie St. Cloud,” “The Lucky One” and the 2012 Cannes Film Festival Palm d’Or finalist “The Paperboy” alongside Nicole Kidman.
