Lincoln, NE, United States (4E Sports) – Nebraska has signed head football coach Bo Pelini to a one-year contract extension, keeping him through the 2018 season.
However, the university refused to release information about Pelini’s new contract. Athletic director Shawn Eichorst has not commented on the matter and declined interviews with several media outlets.
Pelini signed an original five-year deal in 2011 and was given one-year extensions by former athletic director Tom Osborne after the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
The coach received a $100,000 raise last week to $3.075 million, per the terms of his original five-year deal.
The extension became a topic of interest as Pelini’s contract, previously scheduled to expire on Feb. 28, 2018, dipped under four years.
Pelini, 58-24 at Nebraska, is scheduled to address the media Saturday after the Huskers’ first of 15 spring practices.
