St. Louis, MO, United States (4E Sports) – Cleanthony Early and Ron Baker each scored 17 points as the No. 2 Wichita State Shockers ripped the Evansville Purple Aces, 80-58 Friday at Scottrade Center.
Kadeem Coleby had six of the blocks for Wichita State, which set a Missouri Valley tournament record with 11 blocked shots in its 32nd straight win.
Baker had five points and Early added four in a 17-5 run that gave Wichita State a 40-27 lead with 1:34 left in the first half.
Wichita State kept up the pressure in the second half, using a 14-3 blast to race to a 57-36 lead with 14:18 to go.
Free throws by Colby allowed Wichita State to push its lead to 69-46 over five minutes later.
Early and Baker each had a 3-pointer in a 9-3 burst as Wichita enjoyed its biggest lead at 80-55.
Balentine made seven out of 14 3-point attempts in scoring 31 to lead Evansville (14-19). Egidiju Mockevicius added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
