Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – Terrence Ross scored 18 to lead fuel a Toronto Raptors win over the Sacramento Kings, 99-87 Friday at Air Canada Centre.
Patrick Patterson and DeMar DeRozan each had 15 points, while Jonas Valanciunas added 14 points and Amir Johnson had nine points and nine rebounds for the win.
The Raptors led for all but the game’s opening two minutes.
They stretched their lead to 34-21 early in the second but the Kings rallied to pull to within to 37-35.
Toronto took a 51-44 advantage into the dressing room at halftime.
The Raptors pulled away in the third quarter to take an 80-63 bulge into the fourth quarter.
John Salmons, Patterson and Greivis Vasquez each had a field goal to start the fourth to give the Raptors an 86-63 lead.
The Kings had an 11-3 run, capped by a Ben McLemore 3-pointer, to move within 95-85 with 58 seconds to go but their efforts were not enough.
DeMarcus Cousins led the Kings with 24 points.
