Miami, FL, United States (4E Sports) – After exploding for a career-high 61 points, Miami Heat superstar LeBron James reaped accolades from fellow players on Twitter.
“The man above has given me some unbelievable abilities to play this game of basketball,” James said after the Heat defeated the Charlotte Bobcats, 124-107. “I try to take advantage of it each and every night.”
James’ output set a Heat franchise scoring record, which Glen Rice set with 56 points against the Magic on April 15, 1995.
A four-time MVP, James shot 22-for-33 from the field, 8-for-10 from three-point range and 9-for-12 from the free-throw line. He added seven rebounds and five assists in 41 minutes.
James tied his career high by hitting the eight three-pointers while a 25-point third quarter highlighted his night.
Among those who congratulated James was two-time NBA scoring champion Tracy McGrady, who scored a career-high 62 points during his prime.
“Sitting here watching ‘The Masked Man’ showing why he’s the best in the game,” McGrady said on his Twitter account.
Other players who took to Twitter to congratulate James were Roy Hibbert, Shane Battier, Andre Iguodala and TJ Ford.
