Canadiens acquire blueliner Mike Weaver from Panthers

Montreal, QC, Canada (4E Sports) – The Montreal Canadiens have boosted their defense, acquiring blueliner Mike Weaver from the Florida Panthers for a fifth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Weaver, who will turn 36 in May, has no goals and six points in 55 games this season.

He has averaged 18:47 of ice time per game, which is fourth on the Panthers.

Listed at 5-foot-10 and 183 pounds, Weaver was considered one of Florida’s top defenders.
