Raleigh, NC, United States (4E Sports) – Jewell Loyd scored seven of her 18 points in a 17-0 run in the second half as No. 2 Notre Dame pulled away en route to an 84-60 triumph over No. 13 North Carolina State, ending its regular season with a perfect 29-0 record Sunday at William Neal Reynolds Coliseum.

Loyd made seven of 10 shots while Natalie Achonwa scored 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting as the Fighting Irish (16-0 ACC) completed the first unblemished regular season for an ACC school since Duke did it in 2006-07.

Notre Dame also earned the distinction of being the first ACC team to go unbeaten in league play since North Carolina in 2007-08 and the first team with 16 ACC wins since Duke accomplished the milestone in 2002-03.

Kayla McBride and Ariel Baker added 12 points apiece for the Fighting Irish, who will go for a school-record 30th straight win in the quarterfinal round of the ACC tournament.

Miah Spencer scored 18 points off the bench, Kody Burke added 15 while Markeisha Gatling had 12 points and 11 boards for the Wolfpack, who suffered their worst loss of the season, topping a 13-point setback to Duke.

The Wolfpack (24-6, 11-5 ACC) were also held to a season-low in points as they shot just 24-for-63 from the floor for a dismal 38.1 percent.

The Fighting Irish also had their shooting struggles in the first half, hitting just three of their first 10 shots, and were 5-of-18 at one point.

However, the Irish caught fire late, hitting seven of their last eight shots in the first half to surge to a 36-28 halftime lead. The Irish closed the half with a 20-9 run.
