Washington, DC, United States (4E) – U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was hospitalized for about three hours on Thursday after feeling faintness and shortness of breath.
Holder was taken by ambulance from his office to the MedStar Washington Hospital Center for checkup before 10 a.m. and was discharge around 1:15 p.m., the Department of Justice (DOJ) said in a statement. He went home to rest.
A DOJ official said his condition was not serious.
Holder was meeting with his senior staff when he excused himself for not feeling well and decided to go to a hospital as a precaution.
Before his hospitalization, Holder, 63, had no health issues. In June last year, he told a Senate hearing that fatigue could be a compelling reason for him to leave his post.
