Aetna Inc., Tenet Healthcare Corp. ink two-year deal

New York, NY, United States (4E) – Aetna Inc. and Tenet Healthcare Corp. have agreed to sign a fresh, expanded two-year deal.

The accord aimed to provide members of Aetna’s and Coventry’s commercial and Medicare Advantage health plans with covered health care services at 186 outpatient centers, Tenet’s 77 hospitals, and Tenet Physicians, Inc., which has contract with 1,500 physicians working in Tenet’s subsidiaries.

The new deal, which took effect on Jan. 1, resumes the implementation of accountable care organization (ACO) arrangements between Aetna, Coventry and Tenet’s Integrated Care Networks in Arizona and Texas, with the objective to provide lower-cost options for employers and consumers.

This year, Tenet hospitals and related facilities also will take part Coventry and Aetna exchange products in seven markets as well as in forming accountable care arrangements.
