San Francisco, CA, United States (4E) – The winning ticket for the $425 million Powerball jackpot drawn on Wednesday was sold at a Bay Area gas station, California lottery officials said.
The ticket matching the drawn numbers–1, 17, 35, 49 and 54 and Powerball number 34–was sold at Dixon Landing Chevron in Milpitas. The ticket holder, who has yet to come forward, beat 1 in 175 million odds of getting the right numbers.
The gas station also wins $1 million for selling the winning ticket, according to California Lottery spokesman Alex Traversol.
The jackpot was the sixth-largest in U.S. lottery history and the ticket was the second sold in the Bay Area to win a huge lottery prize. On Dec. 17, one of two Mega Millions ticket that won $648 million was sold at Jenny’s Gift and Kids Wear in San Jose.
