CLEARFIELD – At Tuesday’s meeting, the Lawrence Township Supervisors approved to hire Ralph Nedza to the full-time position on the township’s police department.
Supervisor Chairman Bill Lawhead said the supervisors interviewed four of the part-time officers, and all the supervisors agreed that it was a very difficult decision, because all were excellent candidates.
The supervisors also interviewed three candidates for the open part-time officer position. They approved to hire Paul Butler to the part-time position. They also approved to hire Zachary Cowan as a part-time officer on an as needed only basis.
Police Chief Mark Brooks reported that the department completed the first part of Municipal Police Officer Certification Training in January and will complete part two of the training in March.
Brooks said the department also completed mandatory training for the Federal Juvenile Delinquent Offender’s Act.
Brooks reported that Clearfield High School invited the department to participate in a Social Media Awareness event on March 25 -26.
