Lenzelle Smith’s double-double powers Ohio State over Northwestern

Columbus, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Lenzelle Smith Jr. scored 14 and grabbed 10 boards to lead No. 24 Ohio State Buckeyes over the Northwestern Wildcats, 76-60, Wednesday at Value City Arena.

LaQuinton Ross had 16 points and 6 rebounds while Aaron Craft added 14 points and four steals for Ohio State (21-6, 8-6 Big Ten).

Northwestern took a 25-16 lead following a 13-1 spurt in the first half, with Drew Crawford scoring five points.

But Ross erupted with nine points as Ohio State rallied to take a 37-33 lead at half time.

Ohio State had a 9-0 blast in the first 2:43 of the second half capped by Sam Thompson’s perimeter jumper for a 46-33 advantage.

They further outscored Northwestern 15-7 in the next eight minutes to take a commanding 61-40 lead with 10:46 left in the game.

Crawford scored 22 and Tre Demps added 14 to lead Northwestern (12-15, 5-9).
