Syracuse, NY, United States (NewsBahn) – Olivier Hanlan and Patrick Heckmann treys and Lonnie Jackson’s four straight free throws in the final 26.2 seconds lifted Boston College to an unlikely 62-59 overtime win over No. 1 Syracuse Wednesday night at the Carrier Dome.
Boston College improved to 7-19, 3-10 Atlantic Coast Conference with the win over ‘Cuse, which came in winners of 25 straight, including 12 consecutive in the ACC.
Syracuse pulled out close wins over NC State and Pitt over the last week, but ran out of steam vs. BC in hitting just 32.3 percent from the field while missing seven free throws.
BC drilled 11 treys and was led by Hanlan’s 20 points.
C.J. Fair equaled him with 20 points, but connected on just 7 of 23 shots.
