Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Lauded singer and actress Bette Midler is all set to perform at the 86th Annual Academy Awards, the show’s producers announced on Wednesday.
In a statement, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said, “We are thrilled to have Bette perform on the Oscars for the very first time. We believe she will make our Oscar telecast an especially moving evening.”
Midler, who has received Oscar nominations for best actress for the films “For the Boys” and “The Rose,” has won three Emmy and Grammy awards each, and a special Tony Award for her contribution in Broadway in 1974.
Meanwhile, Midler, whose portrait will appear in Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Portfolio to be out his March, will perform at the awards show along with Idinal Menzel, Karen O, U2, and Pharrell Williams.
To be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, the 86th Academy Awards, otherwise known as the Oscars, will be held on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center, with live telecast on ABC and in over 225 countries worldwide.
