London, England, United Kingdom (4E) – Lauded author J.K. Rowling is all set to publish her second novel, titled “The Silkworm,” under her pen name Robert Galbraith on June 19, 2014.
According to Galbraith’s website, “The Silkworm,” is a “compulsively readable crime novel with twists at every turn” that features the tandem of Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott, investigating on the vanishing of novelist Owen Quine.
The description further reads, “At first, [the wife] just thinks [Owen Quine] has gone off by himself for a few days – as he has done before – and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, it becomes clear that there is more to Quine’s disappearance than his wife realises. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows. If the novel were published it would ruin lives – so there are a lot of people who might want to silence him.”
“The Silkworm” is a sequel to Rowling’s second novel for adults “The Cuckoo’s Calling,” writing under the pen name Robert Galbraith. “The Cuckoo’s Calling” shot to the bestselling list immediately after Galbraith’s real identity was leaked and revealed.
Rowling’s first adult novel under her own name is “The Casual Vacancy,” which was published worldwide by Little, Brown Book Group in September 2012.
Meanwhile, Rowling, writing as Robert Galbraith, will be appearing at the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate on July 18, together with lauded crime writer Val McDermid.
