Senior hoopsters bail Cincinatti over pesky Houston

Cincinatti, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Seniors Sean Kilpatrick and Justin Jackson teamed up for 32 of the 10th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats’ 44 second half points in pounding Houston Cougars, 73-62, Saturday at Fifth Third Arena.

Kilpatrick totaled 28 points, 19 in the second half, while Justin Jackson added 13 points, all in the second half.

Houston used a 9-1 run for a 28-22 lead with 2:54 remaining in the first half.

But Cincinnati answered with a 7-0 run to end the half with a 29-28 lead.

The teams exchanged leads through the for close to 15 minutes in the second half, the last when Jackson’s dunk made it 59-57.

Ge’Lawn Guyn connected back-to-back 3-pointers as Cincinnati ended the game with an 18-5 run.

Danrad Knowles scored 11 points to lead Houston (12-13, 4-8).
