New Orleans, LA, United States (4E Sports) – John Wall executed the best dunk of the night to seal the victory for the East team with Paul George and Terrence Ross in the All-Star Weekend slam dunk contest Saturday at Smoothie King Center.

The Washington Wizards point guard jumped over the Wizards mascot, grabbed the ball and flushed it with both hands to get voted by fans as the dunker of the night.

The NBA has discarded the old scoring system of giving players a 1-through-10 score.

Wall upstaged Kings rookie Ben McLemore, who dunked over Kings minority owner Shaquille O’Neal who was seated on a throne.

San Antonio Spurs’ Marco Belinelli won the 3-point shootout by outlasting Wizards’ Bradley Beal in overtime. Belinelli had a winning score of 24 in the final round.

The team of Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard and Utah Jazz’s Trey Burke won the skills challenge.

Lillard is slated to be the first player to participate in five All-Star Weekend events: taking part in the rising stars challenge, 3-point contest and slam dunk contest and before playing in Sunday’s All-Star Game.

The team of Chris Bosh, Swin Cash and Dominique Wilkins won the Sears shooting stars competition by beating the team of Kevin Durant, Karl Malone and Skylar Diggins in the final round.
