Charlotte, NC, United States (4E Sports) – Patty Mills scored 18 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to lead the San Antonio Spurs over the Charlotte Bobcats, 104-100, Saturday at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Mills was 10 of 13 from the field, including 5 of 5 in the fourth quarter.
Tim Duncan finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds as Nando de Colo scored 15.
The Bobcats jumped out to an 18-6 lead behind Al Jefferson, who had 10 points and three steals in the first quarter.
Jefferson was limited to four points the rest of the half as the Bobcats took a 42-41 lead.
Kemba Walker scored six points in the last 3:34 of the third to give the Bobcats a 70-69 lead entering the fourth.
Mills took charge at the beginning of the fourth converting free throws, layups and jumpers, including one from 17 feet that gave the Spurs a 96-87 lead with 2:10 remaining in the game.
The Bobcats rallied to close in at 100-97 with 10 seconds left following filed goals by Jefferson, Gerald Henderson and Ramon Sessions.
A 3-pointer from Henderson following an offensive rebound with 3.1 seconds left allowed the Bobcats cut the lead to 102-100.
Henderson then committed a foul on De Colo, who hit two free throws with 2.4 seconds left to seal the victory.
Jefferson led the Bobcats with 26 points and nine rebounds while Henderson had 23 points.
