San Jose, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Marty Havlat scored in regulation and assisted Tommy Wingels tally with 3:08 remaining in overtime to lead the San Jose Sharks over the Dallas Stars 2-1 Wednesday at SAP Center.
Backup goalie Alex Stalock made 19 saves for the Sharks.
Havlat deftly redirected a point shot from Scott Hannan past the Stars goalie late in the second period as the Sharks took a 1-0 lead.
But Trevor Daley fed the puck to Valeri Nichushkin, who was all alone in the slot, as the Stars tied the game.
In overtime, Havlat made a neat backhand pass from the side of the net to Wingels, who knocked it in for the winning goal.
Kari Lehtonen made 19 saves for the Stars.
