Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Rachel Zoe has opted to cancel her show at the upcoming New York Fashion Week in favor of spending time with her newborn son Kaius Jagger, the celebrity stylist-tuned-fashion designer announced.

The Los Angeles-based Zoe was supposed to have a noon show at The Salon at the Lincoln Center on February 13, but family matters have to come first. “So sad to miss NYFW but beyond excited to debut my fall collection in LA,” she wrote on Twitter on January 31. “I will be back in NYC in September! xoRZ #workingmom”

In a statement to Women’s Wear Daily, Zoe said, “While I look forward to New York Fashion Week each season, I’ve made the difficult decision to move our fall 2014 runway show from Feb. 13 in New York to a later date in Los Angeles. As a new mother, my newborn son is too young to travel with me, and I’m unable to leave him for the amount of time required to appropriately prepare for the show in New York.”

Zoe’s collection is said to be a combination of “French bohemia with Mod elements,” inspired by a Parisian woman in the Sixties. “I couldn’t be more excited about this collection, and market will proceed on Feb. 10 in NYC as planned,” the designer said. “I look forward to being back on the NYFW calendar in September.”

The 42-year-old fashionista is married to Rodger Berman, an investment banker and president of Rachel Zoe, Inc. They have two children together, Skyler Morrison, 2, and Kaius Jagger, who was born last December.
