Rajon Rondo’s double-double powers Celtics over Magic

Boston, MA, United States (4E Sports) – Rajon Rondo had 19 points and 10 assists to lead the Boston Celtics over the Orlando Magic 96-89 Sunday at TD Garden.

Jared Sullinger added 21 points, Brandon Bass had 19 points and nine rebounds and Avery Bradley scored 17 for the Celtics.

A Rondo 18-footer and a dunk by Bass at 5:01 of the first made it 14-12 for the Celtics, who would lead for the rest of the game.

The Magic pulled within 77-76 on 10-2 run with 6:11 left to play.

But the Celtics had an 8-2 run to gve them a more comfortable 94-86 lead with 58 seconds left.


All five Orlando starters scored in double.

Arron Afflalo had 18 points, Nikola Vucevic finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, Glen Davis added 15 points, Tobias Harris scored 13 and Victor Oladipo acoounted for 12 points.
