San Francisco, CA, United States (4E) – Hands-free panorama app Cycloramic came out a big winner on ABC’s Shark Tank, a show where hopeful entrepreneurs pitch their product to rich investors to raise funds. Cycloramic was launched two years ago and allows users to take 360-degree video by using the iPhone’s vibration motors to rotate the smartphone.
“I would have never imagined the immediate impact the Shark Tank had on the download and the website. We saw a little increase in activity shortly before the show as the companies and preview were announced,” Cycloramic developer Bruno Francois told 9to5mac.
After its exposure on Shark Tank, Cycloramic shot up the App Store charts and was able to receive a $500,000 investment from two investors. The app now has a total of around 8 million downloads. The valuation of the app stands at $2 million.
“As soon as our segment started, the downloads skyrocketed (10s of thousands in a few minutes). A lot more than the website hits. We pass 100K download within the hour. By the next App Store Ranking period we went from overall ranking #800 to #2 for the Cycloramic Pro Version and from #220 to #1 for the Cycloramic Studio,” Francois added.
Aside from Cycloramic, the company also released selfie360 app, which is in the top 10 in the Photo category.
