Scottsdale, AZ, United States (4E Sports) – Kevin Stadler fired a 3-under-par 68 in the final round to win his first PGA Tour title in his 239th start Sunday at the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale.
Stadler edged Bubba Watson and Graham DeLaet by just a stroke at the Par 71, 7,152-yard course to win the title and the $1,116,000 top purse.
Watson was leading the final round but bogeyed the 16th and the 18th to finish with an even par-71.
On the 18th, Stadler gave Watson a chance to send the round to a playoff after missing a birdie putt. However, Watson missed his 5-footer and closed his round with a bogey.
DeLaet recorded a second straight 65 to finish in a tie for second and a purse of $545,600.
Hunter Mahan and Hideki Matsuyama finished in a share of fourth place, two strokes behind the winner, while Charles Howell, Brendan Steele and Ryan Moore were three strokes back.
Harris English finished in solo ninth while Webb Simpson was five strokes behind the winner at 10th place.
Defending champion Phil Mickelson fired an even-par 71 in the final round to finish in a tie for 42nd place.
